Ethany Michaud, LCSW, Certified Brainspotting Practitioner & Somatic Therapist
Some of my clients come to me because they don’t know where to start with therapy. Others come to me when traditional talk therapy isn't enough. They’ve reached a plateau in their healing and are looking for a deeper way to process trauma, PTSD, addiction, and grief. As a certified Brainspotting practitioner and somatic therapist, I help clients move beyond just "talking" about their pain. Brainspotting is a neurobiological tool that has been found to help clients process stressors and trauma up to 10x faster than standard methods.
I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, PTSD, panic attacks, grief, substance use, and complex life transitions. Because I know that a strong therapeutic rapport and connection is the foundation of change, I focus on creating a space where you feel truly heard and safe—especially if you’ve had negative experiences with therapy in the past or aren't sure where to start.
In addition to Brainspotting, I utilize a range of evidence-based approaches to ensure your treatment plan is as unique as you are. Whether we are working on boundary-setting, communication, or deep-seated mood disorders, we will work as a team to help you move toward your healthiest self.
I am licensed to practice in Indiana, Ohio, and Florida. I see clients in person at our Indianapolis office and virtually for those in Ohio and Florida. (And if you’re an animal lover, my therapy dog, Kix, is always available to assist in our sessions!)
Outside of the therapy room, I’m a fan of community theatre in downtown Indianapolis and spending time with my husband and our four beloved "floofs"—Kix, Revan, Ezra, and Binks. I look forward to walking with you on your journey toward healing.

Certified Therapy Dog
Hi, I’m Kix! I’m a Goldendoodle, professional snuggler, and proud therapy dog here at the practice. My job is to help you feel safe, seen, and supported — one paw at a time. I am available for those who would like to add me to their sessions with Ethany, but if my services aren’t required, that’s okay too! I’ll happily go into another room and take a nap there as well.
You’ll usually find me curled up next to someone on the couch, offering quiet comfort (or a full lap nap, if that’s more your style). I’m especially good at something humans call deep pressure therapy — but really, it just means I become your personal, fuzzy weighted blanket when things feel overwhelming. Panic and anxiety have a hard time sticking around when I’m on duty. The best part? I don’t shed! So you won’t leave covered in hair.
I also love going on “toy parade” — my very important ritual of showing off the coolest things in my collection. It’s my way of breaking the ice and reminding everyone that healing doesn’t have to be all serious… sometimes it involves squeaky toys.
Whether you’re here to talk, breathe, cry, laugh, or just need a little extra warmth, I’ll be right here if you want me — four paws, open heart, unconditional positive regard and zero judgment.
Paws-itively yours,
Kix 🐶
